The Importance of Body Positivity

Body Positivity: Advocating the acceptance of all bodies regardless of physical ability, size, gender, race or appearance. Self-love and acceptance is not an exclusive concept.
You do not have to be a certain size, a certain height, weight or body-type to love and acceptance yourself to feel beautiful. This shoot was inspired by Kim Kardashian's brand 'SKIMS.' Her brand is based on a theme of unity and positivity that creates undergarments for every fit, size, and shape, and promotes a love of self that traverses a wide range of human beings.
When beginning to bring this set together, stylist Leigh Taylor reached out to the brand, Blacklickorish, to utilize a few of their custom latex pieces, which represent the bend and give of the skin that we're in. Each model is different, and each body is different, and the way that they reach to the sky and embrace each other embodies the full potential that we have as human beings to bring each other in, lift each other up and celebrate beauty in its endless multitude of forms.
Their skin flexes, bends, and moves with the latex in a beautiful way that shows the viewer that all skin is beautiful skin.
You are beautiful, no matter what body you're in. There is no "bikini ready" body, there is no "beach body", and there is no truth to the idea that a body has to be "ready" to go outside. You are already ready and you are already there; a body that is perfect in and of itself.
Your skin is naturally flawed and flawless, and the societal idea that skin needs to be smooth and silky in order to be editorial is a lie and a misconception. This set proves that, and proves that all varieties of naturally ocurring skin are editorial, high fashion, and flawless. Self-love is not exclusive, and neither is the beauty that every individual holds.
