At 29 years old, Filipina-mix singer, SHAYE, carries a story shaped by both emotional resilience and spiritual development, bringing a presence to music that feels intentional, lived-in, and necessary.
Raised in a military household, her father, Matthew, served over 20 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant. That structure created an environment built on accountability, focus, and strength, values that now translate directly into how SHAYE approaches her craft. After years of relocation, her family settled in Memphis in 2016, a city rich in musical legacy, where her artistry began to sharpen into its current form.
For SHAYE, music was never something she had to chase. It was always there. Singing since she could walk, she was nurtured by her mother, Susana, and her late grandfather, Alejandro, both of whom recognized early that her voice carried purpose. That belief stayed with her, evolving into a calling that now defines her path.
Her sound reflects a wide spectrum of influence, blending Pop, R&B, and Rock into a form that is emotionally layered and sonically dynamic. Inspired by artists like Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Drake, Miguel, and Linkin Park, SHAYE doesn’t confine herself to one lane. Instead, she creates music designed to connect across generations, delivering what she describes as love and healing frequencies through every record.
At the center of her identity is her faith in God and Jesus Christ. It is not just a belief system, but a guiding force behind her decisions, her message, and her music. That faith became even more profound following the loss of her brother, Matthew, who passed away in a tragic car accident on September 19, 2024. The impact of that moment reshaped her perspective, deepening her gratitude for life and strengthening her commitment to live with intention.
Rather than allowing grief to silence her, SHAYE has transformed it into purpose. Her music now reflects a full emotional spectrum, touching on love, heartbreak, loss, and spiritual endurance. These themes come together in her upcoming debut project, which explores life, death, and rebirth
through a lens of honesty and growth. It is not just a collection of songs, but a body of work that mirrors her personal evolution.
Beyond the music, SHAYE stands firmly in women empowerment and community impact. She is intentional about using her voice to uplift, guide, and inspire women to recognize their worth, stand in their truth, and move with confidence in every season of life. Her purpose extends beyond records and performances. It lives in how she shows up for others.
She is currently working on two books that reflect that mission. One is centered around empowering women, designed to pour strength, confidence, and self-worth into those navigating their own journeys. The second focuses on grief and loss, offering a space for healing, understanding, and emotional restoration for those who have experienced deep pain. While her personal experiences with loss have shaped this work, SHAYE makes it clear that more details surrounding that chapter of her life will be revealed in due time.
Now managed by Luciano Layne and aligned within a label venture alongside ALPHA Recording Group, Universal Music Group, and Virgin Music Group, SHAYE is stepping into a new phase of her career with both structure and vision supporting her. This partnership signals a strategic move toward building a lasting presence in the industry, while maintaining the integrity that defines her.
Her debut single, “Me First,” marks the beginning of that next chapter. It introduces audiences to an artist who understands the importance of self-worth, healing, and standing firm in one’s truth. More than just a release, it sets the tone for everything she represents moving forward.
